Welcome to the Beneath Pictures journal.

This is where we write about what's happening inside the studio: the films and series in development, the characters as they take shape, the craft behind the work, and the ideas that pull it all together.

Where we are

Three stories are in development. Barto, a period drama series, follows an orphaned forger in Caravaggio's Rome whose fakes are too good to ignore. The Truth is a grounded crime series built around Dr. Mateo Vale, a forensic psychiatrist who hears the things people mean to keep buried. And The House of Doves is a period fable about mercy repaid.

Every one of them begins the same way: with original, hand-crafted artwork by our founder, Scott Devon. Not prompts. The paintings come first, and the films are built to be worthy of them.
