The first Barto trailer
We premiered the first trailer for Barto. It runs about eight minutes, a concept trailer for the series, and it is on our YouTube channel now. Watch Barto on YouTube.
Caravaggio's Rome
Barto is a period drama series set in the Rome of the early 1600s, a city lit the way Caravaggio painted it: one warm light, deep shadow, faces carved out of the dark. Barto is an orphan who stays alive by selling forged paintings to pilgrims and passing nobles who cannot tell a copy from the real thing. His fakes are good enough that one finds its way back to the master himself. The beating he expects becomes an apprenticeship, and his education begins under the most dangerous painter alive.
The art comes first
Every project here starts as original artwork by our founder, Scott Devon, drawn by hand before a single frame exists. Barto began as a graphite study. From that drawing we built a face, then a world, then the footage in this trailer. The art leads and the tools serve it.
This is a first look, and there is more to come. If you want to see where the studio is headed, start with the trailer. Watch it here.
